HIS HOLINESS THE DALAI LAMA
In a recent address to Mayo Clinic staff members in the US, His Holiness the Dalai Lama speaks of our power as individuals to make a world of difference, and affirms that, “…in order to achieve a compassionate humanity, each of us has some sort of possibility (to) make some contribution.”
The message is a simple one: We all have the ability to make the world a more compassionate place – simply by starting from where we are with what we know.
What’s the one thing you can do today to start bringing more compassion into the world?
- A random (or intentional!) act of kindness?
- A small donation to a cause that moves you?
- Giving way to the driver changing lanes ahead of you?
- Volunteering your time or expertise at an organization that inspires you?
- Adopting a shelter animal – or encouraging others to do the same?
- Giving up your seat (on a bus or in a waiting room) to someone who needs it more than you do?
